Sneck Lifter - Jennings
Pours a deep coppery brown - almost opaque - with a cherry hue. A frothy off-white colour head with good lacing
A lovely dose of burnt coffee and toasted caramel/toffee malts with a hint of cherry on the nose. No discernible hops present
At the front end, the burnt coffee and toasted caramel malts hit you and taste great. A good balance of sweetness from the malts, and bitterness from the hops mid-palate. On the finish the hops come through slightly with some citrus and the alcohol is provides a pleasant bite.
Feels Creamy with light carbonation. Dry in the finish. Medium bodied. Warming and balanced
Overall, this is a great, well balanced malty brew which I would definitely have again

Weihenstephan - Bayerische Stattbrauerei
Appears a golden straw colour with plenty of fizz and a nice big white head. Little lacing
Smells of sweet malts with some wheat. Hints of nuts, banana, pepper and bubblegum
Tastes of bready malts which are sweet and balances well with the hops. There is slight bitterness from the hops, but the spicy pepper, cloves come through straight away, and finishes with a fruity whack of banana and bubblegum. Well balanced
Feels smooth and medium bodied; carbonation is good. Refreshing and crisp
Overall, a great beer that I would definitely try again

Early Bird - Shepherd Neame
An English Pale Ale at 4.3%Poured from a 500ml bottle into a pint glass
Pours a golden copper with a hay coloured head, which doesnt stay for very long. Little to no lacing
Strong hops with some herbs, spice, flowers and grass on the nose.
Flavour comes through with malt and caramel at the front, then a big kick from the hops give a citrus zing and some grass/hay. Good linger, if a little too sweet
Light to medium bodied, mild astringency with little carbonation.
If you like sweet, hoppy beers then grab a bottle of this
